Cognitive Assessments for Children
Our Cognitive Assessments, also called Intelligence or IQ Tests, measure your child’s cognitive ability. This assessment tests their thinking and problem-solving skills, and indicates their ability to learn. It is not a test of language, reading, writing or mathematics.
A Cognitive Assessment can be administered for:
- General IQ Testing
- Gifted and Talented Identification
- Intellectual Disability, including Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia
The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC) is our preferred cognitive assessment for children and adolescents. The assessment is an individually administered intelligence test for children between the ages of 6 and 16 years old. The WISC-V generates a Full Scale IQ that represents a child's general intellectual ability or global cognitive functioning. It also provides five primary index scores: Verbal Comprehension Index, Visual Spatial Index, Fluid Reasoning Index, Working Memory Index, and Processing Speed Index.
