About Antoinette

Antoinette is fluent in English and Afrikaans and has experience working with a diverse range of individuals. Starting her career as a primary school teacher, she has had the opportunity to work with children and parents both within a special educational needs setting and mainstream schooling. Within these settings, Antoinette gained an understanding of the various challenges children and parents might face, particularly in the early years of schooling and the meaningful role support and therapy can play in helping them successfully navigating these. This prompted her to further her studies in psychology, later changing careers to become a qualified Psychometrist. While working as a Psychometrist in South Africa, Antoinette was predominantly involved in conducting assessments for pre-employment and personal development purposes as well as for individuals experiencing occupational challenges following injury as a result of a motor vehicle accident or while on duty.

How Antoinette might support you

Antoinette believes that the therapeutic process is unique to each individual. Therefore, she works collaboratively with her clients drawing on various evidence-based therapeutic approaches to bring about awareness and understanding to support personal growth and improved overall well-being.  She strives to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel comfortable to explore the “self” and significant relationships in dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression and adjustment. She enjoys working with clients across the lifespan with a particular interest in working with children, adolescents and their families. She is also interested in utilising assessments as a way to assist clients to gain a better understanding of themselves and as an additional source of information to guide future support.
