About Jenni

“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves” Victor Frankle (Man’s Search for Meaning)

Jenni is a passionate practitioner in the field of clinical psychology. Jenni is a Board Approved Supervisor, and divides her time between consulting and supervision work. Her work is based on the belief that that people want to be happy, effective and successful in their lives and that they have within themselves the resources to achieve these goals. She believes that psychotherapy can help individuals most effectively use their resources to increase self-understanding, to improve decision-making, to solve problems, and to create paths to the lives they want. Jenni began her work in 1987 in Johannesburg, South Africa where she practiced in a multi-cultural diverse population. She has relocated to Australia to begin a new adventure with Northside Psychology.

How Jenni might support you

Jenni offers a compassionate therapeutic approach that includes cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treatments to adults with a wide range of emotional, behavioural and adjustment challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression, alcohol addiction and relationship difficulties.

In addition, Jenni offers child centred play therapy for children where she creates a warm, caring accepting and permissive relationship which allows for a powerful means of joining with the innate, creative, nonverbal capacities of children in order to engage and work therapeutically with them. Parenting skills and parent/child relationship therapy complete the suite of the therapeutic support she offers children .

Teenagers/Screenagers have unique needs within the community. Jenni offers a person centred approach to the adolescent to assist with the difficulties of navigating the transition from childhood into adulthood. She has a niche cognitive behavioural training in eating disorders.
